Fall 2013 color forecast

2013 fall colors

It’s officially Fall-even if you are residing anywhere near me and it’s still a million degrees out! I don’t know about you but I still had to get my annual Pumpkin Spice fix (on ice-not the same experience). With the return of Fall comes an exciting new color palette to outfit yourself AND your home! Below are a few items you could use to incorporate these colors into any space. Everything is available through Oasis Rug & Home so don’t be shy if you are interested in a piece!

You could make a BIG change in your space by changing out your area rug:

You could add a new pop of color on your sofa or bed with some exciting new pillows:

Another option is to brighten up your space-literally! Swap out the lamps on your end tables, console or night stands!

Then there is always the simple method….start with small accessories that you don’t feel so ‘married to’. I know some of you can be a bit afraid of color…

Creole Farmhouse {inspiration}

I’ve been working in the early phases of a home outside of Pensacola, Florida that is meant to look & feel as if it’s an updated Creole farmhouse that’s been around forever. The catch: it’s new construction. I have to say I have really enjoyed researching this look & playing with the different ways you can get the old look with new things. Below are a few images I found inspiring.

the art wall

Art Walls are big right now. It can be a challenge to create the perfectly collected grouping of art, photography & what not. I consider the art wall in my home to be an ever-changing monster…..the second I execute my latest idea I get a better one, ugh. Please ignore all of the nail holes.

These days almost anything can be transformed into a perfect art wall worthy collection. Take a look at some of my favorites via Pinterest for some inspiration….

so much more than a coffee table book

I love books…reading them, collecting them, awkwardly lingering in bookstores drooling over them and getting to ‘play’ with them in my projects. Some people don’t get the functionality of a great coffee table book and how versatile it can be. You can stack them, lean them, use them as risers for other decorative items or just simply display them on your coffee table to bring a little more of ‘you’ into the space.

Below are a few images of my favorite ways to use coffee table books, and if you find yourself in need of a few come browse our selection!
