Modern Tray Table No.1: Bar

Recently this fetching little occasional table trickled in from a High Point order made back in October. It’s always like: ‘Surprise! Here is something fabulous your forgot was coming!’….whenever something like this arrives. I thought this piece was full of so much possibility & I wanted a chance to play with it before it quickly finds its forever home, so enjoy my first thought on this piece: use it for a little bar!

If you follow me on {Pinterest} then you have realized that I love little bars. Whether they are a permanent fixture in your home’s millwork or something you set up just for entertaining and special occasions-they are a fun way to create a ‘collection’ & point of interest in your home using items that are functional and not just for looks.

Line items up in rows or cluster them in odd-numbered groups. This way everything looks more intentional and is more ‘pleasing’ on the eye.

Happy Humpday Everyone!

Green with Envy

Emerald Fashion Story
As you surely know by now, Emerald is Pantone’s color of the year for 2013. Look for it to pop up in your favorite clothing & home decor stores. Above are a few of my favorite Emerald finds to wear & enjoy!
Below is a vignette I fell in love with at High Point Market this past October-just before ‘Emerald’ was announced! How spot on-right? I’m really excited to get to work with this hue much more in the future…
Happy Humpday Everyone!

Good Morning Beautiful!

We are absolutely in love with this new pair of Hickory Chair arm chairs here in Destin. And how fun is the pop of color in that pillow. It’s got a vibrant color scheme with a little bit of a southwestern flair in the pattern. The fuchsia was the perfect note to tie in this over-sized runner we all adore. Below is a picture of the two beauties the day we all first laid eyes on them in the Hickory Chair showroom at High Point Market back in October.

Hope Monday is being kind to everyone!

Barefoot & fancy free is the way to be; especially when you can lounge around outdoors as comfortably as you would in your very own living room! Check out this new outdoor upholstery collection from Lee, including the chair above that is located in front of our Destin/Miramar Beach location! {picture above via Oasis Rug & Home, pictures below via Lee Industries}

Metal Cabinet No.3: Utility

photo 1

Happy {almost} weekend everyone! Enjoy my third installation with this lovely black metal cabinet….No.3: Utility. In this instance the cabinet would be perfect for a home that may be lacking in kitchen storage. So once again-why not turn the everyday beautiful into a lovely display to be enjoyed at all times?

Whether it is everyday dishware or fine china-put it out there for even non-dinner guests to enjoy. Don’t you think it would look amazing full of stacks & stacks of random collected china patterns? Or maybe stock it full of pure white stacks of plates & platters of all sizes. This would be a great piece to simply utilize as a bar/wine cabinet.

I put some of my most coveted cookbooks & an old ‘Puritan Dairy’ box on the top shelf with a few bottles of wine. The old dairy box is a great place to hide household items that just aren’t working with your display, but staying just an arms reach away. The white dishware is a combination of Williams-Sonoma, Target & Marshalls finds! The black & white paper straws perfectly tie it all together.

The bottom two shelves are housing a large collection of mason jars for all of those Pinterest projects I’m going to do ‘one day’. I’ve also got a few of my favorite cupcake liners & my mother’s old Vera Neumann linen napkins from the late 70’s/early 80’s.

If this lovely piece was your’s-what would you be filling it with this weekend?

TGIF friends!
